Green Bank
The Green Bank is an exciting new initiative focusing on food growing, home energy saving and up cycling. We are looking for new members to share their ideas in shaping projects. We have funding available to kick start your ideas so get in touch to discuss further.
As part of the Green Bank we have decided to create a Tool Bank where Timebank members can borrow a variety of tools to help with their projects. We have just purchased a Mantis Tiller which all Timebank members will be welcome to borrow to help with their community garden projects (subject to loan agreement). What other tools would you find it useful to have access to? Let us know as we are hoping to extend the Tool Bank to help community gardeners right across the borough.
Are there other ways that we can support your community gardening project? By joining the Timebank and gaining time credits for the work you are already doing we may be able to help recruit volunteers, help with publicity, buy tools, organise trips, offer training opportunities and AQA accreditation.
Green Bank news
We recently ran 2 very successful and well attended energy saving workshops where members were able to gain useful information and tips about how to save money by properly insulating their homes. They also received a number of free samples which they will be able to use to ensure a warm and cosy home.
We also welcomed the Selby Trust to run a workshop giving information about the Green Deal Energy Assessment which our members found very useful. Contact selbygreenreach@aol.com
